Clip On Fan
There is a personal fan that is called a clip on fan because it will clip onto the edge of a desk, cubicle top, as well as shelves. Parents love it for their child’s bedroom as it can be clipped way up high where a child cannot get to it. I have a friend who totally dislikes cooking in summer because of the heat from cooking. She purchased a small clip on fan and clipped it to her edge of her exhaust fan and aimed it down toward her. Guess, what? This summer she won a blue ribbon for her raspberry preserves, which she made in the coolness of her new clip on fan!

Some of them even have 2 speed settings, and some have an oscillating function in order to bring you widespread coverage. Best yet, these have 3 far blades, and even a durable metal mesh front grille. Now, these are only 11 inches tall too, thus they can be placed just about anywhere. By the way, the fact that they oscillate is quite important. Since they are personal fans that you may place rather close to you, no matter what you are doing be it sewing, writing or working on a computer, if it did not oscillate then your eyes would dry out from the constant air. Be sure that the neck of this kind of fan is multi segmented, allowing you to point it anywhere you wish!
I have a friend who takes her little clip on fan with her when going to the gym. You see her “thing” is riding the stationary bike there. Well, she was going to quit as she could not stand the heat, until she got the bright idea of purchasing a delightful little personal portable clip on fan. So now, she has no problem going to the gym daily, all because of her clip on fan.
You will, of course, also run into battery-operated clip on fans. Those, by the way are often asked for by our troops in Kuwait and Iraq. After all it gets to a “balmy” 115 degrees in Iraq. They are very thankful for the cooling air that a clip on fan can provide.
An interesting use for a clip on fan was pointed out to me by a 10 year old boy. He said that there is a very active group of nano reef collectors on the Internet. I had to show my ignorance and asked what it was? The explanation was very lengthy coming from a 10 year old, but I heard all about needing to keep the aquarium to certain temperatures, else everything in it would die. He further explained to me that various marine aquarium shops sell rather expensive little fans to be sure that the temperature does not go too high especially during the summer months. Knowing that I was reporting on lower cost clip on fans, he said to be sure and tell people to purchase those instead of the expensive aquarium ones.
