Small Electric Fan
There are many types of small electric fans, and the location in which you use it may well decide in advance the type you will wish to purchase. For instance a small electric fan to be place in a baby's nursery may be necessary when the weather is inordinately hot, but if space is at a total premium, you may have to place the fan where unfortunately the baby may be able to reach it! In that case, you will need to buy your fan carefully, making sure that small fingers cannot reach inside to the blades.
We've all heard that it is wrong to place a baby on its stomach to sleep, but in addition there is a definitely interesting study has been published by The Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine stating that by merely keeping a fan on in the baby's room this could lower the baby's risk factor of SIDS by 72%! The warmer the room is with uncirculated air, the more danger there was of the baby experiencing SIDS. It is not necessarily the heat that poses this risk, but rather that the baby is breathing its own stale air containing carbon dioxide (CO2) when the air does not circulate. This has been found to be the problem causing SIDS in babies that sleep on their stomach, thus it makes sense that a fan will help prevent this problem.
Further this publication certainly has come to parents who were unsure as to what to do to prevent SIDS, and the possibility of an overheated environment certainly makes sense. Consider, if you will, the fact that today our homes are so "tight", that getting fresh air to move about will certainly be an improvement. Using the low setting on a small fan would accomplish this. It does not have to be pointed directly at the baby either if you worry about the baby getting a chill.
It would seem that adults would also sleep much better when there is a small electric fan placed in their bedroom. Large fans seemingly make too much noise, of course, but the white noise provided by a small fan should certainly not inhibit sleep.
Now there are also small electric fans that feature a light soft fabric blades. Even a small child can stick their finger there when it's operating and never feel hurt. Again, these fans are ultra-modern and come in a myriad of decorator colors that will please anyone. Because of the fan blades in that kind being made of material, these small electric fans are exceedingly quiet even if you place them very close to you.
The fans that have the fabric blades are extremely useful in child's rooms but adults also love them not only for their safety but also for the fact that the breeze from them is not a plugged in tornado. Rather it serves to give you a gentle breeze that will not scatter paperwork ever! Many people who have pets are also very impressed with the fabric fan blades.
